Default Do Hoosiers Break Wheels?

Anyone ever broken a wheel on track going from street tires to Hoosiers? I run TSW Panoramas which are cheap and light. The 5 spoke design and high offset doesnt inspire confidence in their strength either. Ive never run R7s but im considering it this year. 6ULs are on my mind but this years budget is tight. The TSWs have at least 15 NASA TT weekends on em.

I've never heard of them breaking the rim but I have heard of control arms breaking.

I've given Samed's experience some thought. In the process of forming the 949 Racing wheels, it's likely a 9" wide, a 9.5" wide and a 10" wide all start out with the same amount of raw material, it just gets stretched farther. Therefore, they're gonna get weaker / softer as they get wider. WTF do I know?

Kinda like making a small, medium or large pizza out of the same size dough, how far can you stretch it?

its likely? do you have a source for this or are you just making this up based on the video you linked? actually now that I think about it, I know you're just making this up... if they were all the same amount of material they'd all weigh the same. and guess what, they don't. even 4 lug and 5 lug versions of the same width have different weights. Now I'm not defending 6UL's cause we have proof just a couple posts above that they bend. But lets not starting making up a random shit about them...

It depends on the wheels and the car, but as said above, wheels are wear items.

Go look at the ever popular Kosei K1 on BMW track cars, they are notorious for cracking spokes.

I have a cracked Kosei in my garage, just like you said, a cracked spoke. I use it as a step stool.
