Default Bonnet latch query

Can anyone tell me how the cable is attached to the mechanism for the latch please.

at the bonnet end its just like those old brake cables on bikes, a lump on the end of the cable locates in the latch mechanism

Heads up to all about the other end!
With thanks to Jason (Nottm). I was stuck nearly out of petrol and the cable wouldn't open the petrol flap (operates on button in secret compartment.).

It is a simply matter but less so in the dark to pop a couple of boot liner rivets and reach in and take off the lock/unlock barrel.

Lubricating the bonnet release cable up front I was on to, but not this one at the back end.

Without which if you can't open the flap no petrol = no go anywhere
