Other route options could take us over the Cherohala Skyway then north.

anyway, food for thought, and post here if you have an interest. You can always follow along for the DT portion then head back to Fontana. At this point, there is no plan to stop for a bite to eat, or take photos along the route, so fill up at the BBQ and mount your gopro before hand.

There is one rule- don't follow too close to the driver ahead on DT- leave at least 3 seconds of gap. This is a challenging road with plenty of opportunity to crash if you are mental.

ok. so, to get this right, the plan is to keep the plan like it was last year, as planned. yes?

Friday night with the BBQ, Saturday with the banquet, depart Sunday?

No, you are still expected to arrive on the Wednesday, unlike last year.

Ok, so the registration site says Friday is the banquet, Saturday is the BBQ lunch, and we're on our own for Saturday night.

I just want to be sure of the schedule and the plan, so I can...er...plan.

That's the plan, Stan (or Mort or Earl). The plan change was predicated on more than one or two people asking for the change. I posted the tentative change here quite a while ago (08 November 2018: last year ) and there was no large cry to change the event. I'm open to changing the schedule if there is enough demand to do so.

Ok, thanks, Ken. I think that plan is a good one- I really didn't have an issue with the change of plan. I can now...um...plan. there is only 4 months left, so time is short.

thanks again!
