Engine rebuild or swap?
Which way do you think you will take when your engine finally dies? Are you going to try and rebuild or go for a swap? And if you are are gonna swap are you going to swap in another F-series or go with something different like a K20/K24 build? Maybe an LS swap?

The F-series is going to get very hard to find in the future. People are already swapping them into all manner of stupid vehicles. and the supply is definitely finite. Some suppliers on ebay (don't buy from ebay) are charging over $6,000 for a motor with under 75k miles. If my engine pops, I'm invested in a low-enough pricepoint that I'm simply out of the game. Others will probably have to look towards the K series motors, or simply keep a few grand on hand in case you run across an F20 or F22 that is being sold for a bargain. I'm actually more than a little pissed off that people are shoehorning these engines into places they don't belong. There are better-suited motors to stuff into stupid projects.

I would try to find a used F20 to swap in if I ever had to. I definitely wouldn't try an LS swap for this car because it would take too much away from what the S2000 is supposed to be. Before I bought my S last year I almost bought a non-running Mazda RX8 that I was going to do an LS swap on. I wouldn't have felt bad about that one. To me, the sum of the parts is what makes the Honda S2000 what it is and it shouldn't be changed.

if space allows i might try a FA20DIT or possibly whats in the new Supra. I figure by the time my engine dies i will have driven this car to its full potential and the only reason to keep it around is because of nostalgic reasons so it would turn into a fun project for me.
