Default Rear suspension stiffener damage and doubt

Last week, I was trying to lift my ap1 and replace the exhaust myself. After the car lifts, I found big damage on the left side of rear suspension stiffener. The connector between the subframe and the bar is warped.
I don't know why the connector and the bar are damaged. I do not remember that I hit any in driving and I didn't jack at the bar. I only put the jack on the jack point and the rear diff.
Is that a possibility that if I jack one side of the car too high so the bar can not hold the pressure on one side?
I'm so confused.

The picture is attached below.
Also asking for advice to repair this mess.

Thanks.

That bar isn’t very stiff at all.
My guess is you or someone else ran over something and bent it up .

Just order another type of bar and blast the old one off.
No biggie .

What he said above, but it seems the bracket also would need to be bent back and probably reinforced with new welds.

not sure how long you've owned the car but I bet someone jacked up the rear end at that point in the past, looks like a jack mark on it.

This is a good time to buy an aftermarket bar to replace that one, just bend the tab back down and install the new bar, or get an oem one if you want.

That isn't run over something damage, its improper jacking damage. My guess is it was a lift that had an arm placed improperly. In other words, a shop did this.

No way that heavy bracket got bent from running over something. Plus the way the stiffener bar is bent and folded, it seems to match up with one of those lifts with the flip up 'hand' at the end of a swivel arm.

A floor jack as a wide cup. I doubt it would bend and fold like that with the load spread on the jacks cup.

When was the last time car was at a shop?

^Agreed.

Is the bracket really bent upward as much as it looks like? If so -- are you smelling fuel? Can't see how the evap canister would survive that.

I check again today. The carbon canister is okay. Now it looks like hitting something.

From that angle the bracket looks way less bent. Must have been photo illusion in previous one, made it look hella bent.

Agree that other damage makes it look more like run over damage, but its weird that stiffener is bent from BOTH sides. Running over something going fwd wouldn't do that.
