Default Mugen Power Photoshoot

I've been building this car since 2007 and for 12 years now and it's gone through many different looks and parts. Since 2013, i started down the path of a Mugen build and i've pretty much arrived at it's final iteration. Haven't started a thread in years and haven't done a proper photoshoot in years as well, so just thought I'd share. Any comments, questions, love or hate, are welcome!

Wow. That’s what I’d call perfection.

I love everything but the shiftknob, lol. Mugen seats would have looked real good too. This is a fantastic build, probably my favourite on this forum. Nice work.

haha i love my shift knob and seats!! The story behind the knob and seats is that my intentions were never to do a 'catalog build' (believe it or not lol) because i feel like people make compromises when they do something like build their car with parts just because it has a certain name on it. It just turns out that i like all the Mugen exterior parts so it became a 'pretty much' catalog build. But i've had mugen knobs and i've had many opportunities to buy S1 or S1R seats but the mugen knobs just don't do it for me and i don't find the S1/S1R seats comfortable at all. I love the S660 shift knob, it's actually very comfortable and the Bride Stradias are my favorite seats for this car hands down. While i would strongly consider the new Mugen x Recaro buckets, i just don't know if i can give up my reclinable seats. The adjustability of the back and the ability to easily use the stock seat belt receptacle are big pros for me.

But i appreciate the feedback! Yes i agree it would look much cooler and more cohesive with 100% Mugen parts though. If it were a show car, I would have definitely gone that route.

Car looks fantastic, except one imperfection where the lower fender edge behind the front wheel gotten eat up by rock chip pretty bad, it'll rust over period of time, op have you ever thought about repainting it then snap on some carbon fiber chip guards as a future protection?

i actually didn't notice that so i just went out to apply some touch up paint, thanks!!

As for the CF chip guards, i've considered them, but they're not the exact shape i would prefer. Also, i like the cleaner look without them, so i'll probably just end up touching up any paint chips in the future rather than run the chip guards.

Love the build, well done!

The Mugen roll bar setup: is it complete bolt-on or does it require cutting like other roll bar setups? Is there any way to save the functionality of the secret compartment with the Mugen setup?

Clean!

What made you go with late ap1 headlights instead of ap2's?
