Be My Baby and Walking in the Rain were great songs. Chapel of Love was done originally by the Dixie Cups.

I have posted this before about two years ago. But for those of you that may have missed it (or have forgotten). May I suggest that you listen to WLNG.com either on line or with your smart speaker.
WLNG broadcast from Sag Harber, Long Island, NY and has been on the air since 1963. They have over 10K oldies in their music library and will take request. One can listen to this station for a week and never hear the same song twice, unlike the stations around the Washington DC Metro area where if one wishes to hear a song again tune in the same time tomorrow because they just play a loop.

As one of WLNG's slogans states: "They are always live and always local".

Matt, great song. But, I love Pandora because I can pick the songs I love and hear them over and over. Not back-to-back but often enough that I never tire of them and when they play something I don't like its so easy to say sorry and push a button for the next one. You should know I seldom listen to any local music except country stations cause I've no other options and I do like country . . . . . . but doo whop will always be my love.

I think it was Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys who said that the Ronettes "Be My Baby" was his all time favorite song. He's not the only one. I don't remember the number but I know it's on the list of "Rolling Stone" Magazine's 500 all time greatest songs.

Ronnie passed away not too long ago. She, her sister and cousin, The Ronettes, were a great group. And with Phil Spector's guidance they produced some great music.

Speaking of Phil Spector, this song is a great example of his "Wall of Sound". This is the orignal Crystals with La La Brooks singing lead.

I was listening to 1975 hit, I'm Not in Love. I was in high school when this song came out. What a great melody!

I was just thinking when I saw the title of this thread that the phrase Golden Oldies makes me think of songs from the 50’s but I guess now the 70’s are Golden Oldies too!
