I'm afraid I just can't stay away. I know this forum has rather dried up of late, whilst FB and other social media interactions take over. But I'm old skool. And that goes too with cars I guess.
The 340i I had for the year was taken off me by a GM of a very well known car retailer as his own car - he missed his old one so much. He even had in tow a BMW technician to go over the 340, and said it'd the finest example he'd ever seen. I wasn't surprised, I look after my motors really well.
However, I did ponder all sorts of cars, and secretly was tempted by an MX5. I had mentioned about a 981 earlier (and even a Panamera just cos I like 'em) but, just the running costs put me off in the end. It's a haul of cash when Porsche's fk up, therefore, there was only one answer:
She's an 05, 90 on the clock and Silverstone Silver. Paint work is excellent everywhere, no rust either and it does have a few jobs to keep me busy. She's sitting a little lower on coilovers, and has a fancy Pioneer DEH-9600BT radio which will take hours to understand .
Has an Invidia exhaust which breaks the sound barrier mid range upwards
Overall I'm happy, it's still "on trial" as I bought from a small car dealer, so any issues that are significant, it will be returned. But for now, I'm back enjoying VTEC love again ....

Thanks guys. Number 3 I believe is being ran, but unfortunately it was starting to see significant tin worm on the n/s arch. Plus, it did have a chequered history in terms of seeing hedges (not in my hands, but I knew that when I bought it) however it was nicely set up and Geo looked after. Engine was like a Swiss Watch and so quiet. I guess I fell out of love with Suzuka blue too, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Those that come back have a stupid addiction to these cars - they need looking after alot, being as old as they are, and are terrific value and deliver smiles per mile. I've clocked up nearly 100,000 miles in these cars over the years, and know them inside out. I'll keep faith and hope she turns out to be a good 'un. Commute to work should be fun tomorrow - I have breakdown cover ready in case I'm stranded ..
So far, I've fully serviced it yesterday with edge 5w40, chucked away the blueprint oil filter and replaced with OEM. Cleaned the pcv and throttle body/flap, fitted a new Honda TCT...
More little things to do but low cost...
I'm borking at paying 280quid for the proper honda 4 piece mats, but you know, I might just get them.
Red leather needs a damn good scrub, but I have the stuff for that and to rejuvenate. A little unsure how to get the bum indentation out the drivers seat, it's not that bad but something for me to sort.
Oh and did I mention it has new pulleys, new rad, and ...a new roof too? All closes fine, so out will come the shinetzu tonight for a bit of lubrication on all the rubber bits...
I'll be working my magic on the cam cover when it warms up, back end of April/May, and go Anodised Candy Red with a Gold Spark plug cover (I hate the wrinkle red). At least all this gets me out of shopping with 'Maude...

They are great cars and when you know your way around em they are easy to keep in fine fettle
Tin worm a big problems these days
She looks well
More fun than a lardy BM even if it sounded good
100%
The Beemer sent me to sleep. I guess I never found it's true potential, as the BMW technician said they're great on the flappy paddles throwing it into corners. I just didn't feel convinced it was at home doing that. I think it's personality was a bit wanting for dick head driving.
Suns coming out, perfect timing this week. I'll have to put these installed PBS pads through their paces
Welcome back Tony our group has been quiet, all ready for some Trough and Settle chippy runs
Steve
Yeah defo Steve, although I reckon I might bottom out along the Trough (Trough of Bowland for those that don't know it).
Chippy run this week if you're up for it, Thursday is looking very nice ...
Edit : sorry, I remembered you're going to the beer car meet (yes guys, you heard right) near Lancaster. I could ask Barry if we went to that instead, what time is it on / location?
