Default At this point in time: What was your trip of a lifetime?

As I type this I would have to state that when Lauren and I took a Seabourn cruise to Antarctica in 2023/24. It has to be the trip of my lifetime. The wild life was incredible The only disappointment was that we did NOT get to see any Emperor Penguins (as they travel 75-100 miles in land to breed). We did also did NOT see an Orca whale.

With that stated: The rest of the twenty day cruise out of Ushuaia, Argentina to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and then five days in Antarctica was amazing! As the other four species of Penguins have no predators on land they are very curious and will walk right up to you. However due to concerns about Avian Bird Flu one has to stay fifteen meters away from them which is actually hard to do.

I am curious about what others consider to be the trip of their lifetimes and as we both enjoy travel I am looking for suggestions (and pictures).

Thank you.

I have never traveled outside North America. But I have traveled by planes, train, and automobiles throughout this vast continente and experienced moments of amazement and wonder. But my best memory was one of the semianual S2000 Dragonm meet-ups with both my boys. Meeting friends I had madse but only saw twice a year was always a great pleassure. Driving the roads around Fontana Village and the nearbty towns was always a treat for this flat-lander. Drivinsg and riding with Rob and AJ made that particular event so special, it eclipsed the Grand Canyon wedding, Vegas, Monterray and Cozumel, Montreal, the Niargra river and falls, the train rides on the City of New Orleans and the Sunset Limited, and all the other grand adventures I have had the privilege to enjoy. That was a very special Dragon meet for "dad".

It is very hard to pick just one, but here are some memorable moments of travel for me:
  • Visiting St Paul's Cathedral in NYC (Ground Zero) - most spiritual feeling I've ever had.
  • Fort Jefferson - located in the ocean off the coast of Florida
  • Jet-Ski tour of Key West , Fla
  • Disney World - Evening Disney Parade and the ET Ride with our son, his expressions were priceless as he loved those experiences
  • Sandals Jamaica - pure luxury
  • Wright Brothers Memorial - NC - very cool
  • Best beaches - Cuba and Antigua - most restful places
  • I led an S2000 group tour of Watkins Glen NY back in the day, lots of fun driving
  • Smokey Mountain National Park, and Lynchburg TN - very cool places.
  • Space Shuttle Launch at Kennedy Space Centre - once in a lifetime opportunity
  • Fatima Portugal - spiritual bucket list item for me

Celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Bermuda. We celebrated our 25th there as well. We love Bermuda.

Does walking down the aisle count as a trip?

But disregarding marital bliss. The best tip probably had to be 7 years ago
We attended the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club as guests of Mercedes-Benz.
We got to see how the .01% live. It was simply, over the moon, fantastic.

Thinking back and there isn't one I could pick out as "the best". I suppose the last one Patty and I did was the best. She was having a good time and it was long after that that she was gone.
