Hi all,

My current setup has my S2K lowered so that my front jacking point is 3.3 inches from the garage floor. To jack up the car from the front, I have to use a small jack on the side to lift the car enough to slide my larger jack under the front...kind of a PITA. Does anyone have a recommendation for an ultra low profile jack that will allow me to slide just 1 floor jack under the front to reach the front jacking point (that will also clear the splash guard thingy under the very front of the car)? Suggestions appreciated!

 

I dont think you'll be able to find such a jack. Its a long distance from bumper to subframe and you'd need a jack under 3.4 inches the whole way.

I just picked up a Daytona Low Profile Long Reach to replace my decade old Pittsburgh. I raise the side from the rear pinch weld and place a jack stand under the front pinch weld. Then I lift from the subframe and put another jack stand under the other front pinch weld. Then I lift from the diff and put two jack stands under the rear pinch welds. Timed myself a few years ago and I can get the car on all 4 jack stands in about 5-6 minutes with using only a single jack.

 

Thanks - that's kind of what I thought. Plenty of jacks seems to be found for lifting under 3" but it's the base of the jack that needs to be low as well. I did find one that worked years ago when I was at Putnam Park Raceway - they had an old Griots Garage brand that was super long and had little height. It was awesome but no longer available...can't even find a used one.

 

Eh, jacking from side also makes it easier to look ubder to make sure real jack aligns to center jacking point.

So adds value to process using 2 jack method.

I jack my car up from the jacking point on the pinch welds. Been doing it for almost a decade.

I lift the passenger rear corner which also lifts the front, get a jack stand at the front jacking point, use a rubber puck at the pinch weld to lift the back some more, get a jack stand in the rear jacking point, raise the front a bit more with a rubber puck at the front to lift the jack stand higher, and repeat on the passenger side. Only way that has worked for me since my car is lowered. Kind of a pain but it has worked and my pinch welds are fine. You MUST use a rubber puck however otherwise it can damage your pinch welds.

 

I roll up on mini ramps and then use the Daytona long reach low profile jack.
