Square set up with OEM wheels
Hi guys
I've got an opportunity to buy two rear AP2V1 wheels which I'm keen on so that I've got the opportunity to try out a square set up for the track without incurring too much cost.
I know that they need bored out to run on the front, but I've seen contradictory info on whether any other adjustments are needed to run these without rubbing. Has anyone done this/know what would need to be done to fit correctly?
For context, I'm on stock suspension at the moment but plan to get some nice coilovers later this year and would probably go for a mild drop in ride height.
Cheers all
Chris

I was told, a long time ago that if I suffered a puncture on a front wheel the space saver could not be fitted there and I would have to fit a rear wheel on the front(to clear the brakes) and fit the space saver to the rear, no mention of wheel centres different diameters?
Told wrong.
Fits just fine over the brakes.
You should NOT mount the spare on the rear as the different tire size would fry the Torsen differential. And drive the anti-lock brakes crazy.
Flat front? Put the spare on the front.
Flat rear? Put the spare on the front and move the front tire to the rear.
Front and rear tires are the same circumference (outside diameter); spare is smaller but the front axle doesn't care.
Front hub bore is 70.1 mm, while the rear hub bore is 64.1 mm

The handbook clearly states which wheels to put on where. Space saver always on the front and front wheel on to the rear if it’s a rear puncture.
I once looked at buying another S (now there’s a strange occurrence!). Took the car a drive and remarked to myself how heavy the steering felt. On our return I noted the rears were on the front and vice versa. I didn’t buy the car! lol

Think 5mm spacers are needed + studs<hub removal> so they not to rub on full lock or coller spacers on steering rack are needed, been with a good driver on track and very good..
rotating mass may be an issue as i found going up a size with tyres, they are heavy, but mine is road use only.
