I have a bit of a concern (not sure if it is that big of a deal) I seem to be be getting at least 6 requests a week for the last month with users requesting their nicknames be changed.

I can understand the legitimate one's where they didn't understand we go by nicknames as opposed to their real name. So I do not have a problem with this.

But my concern is if you have a nickname and you want it changed (WHY?) I don't understand what the purpose is.....I would like to see if we can cut down on these types of requests.

If you have zero posts and you require a nickname change, then it will be done. or if there is a duplicate name the second user will have to change it.

All others' who have more than zero posts who require a name change will have to have a good reason and I will tell you it will not be at the top of my priority list.

I welcome all emails with questions and suggestions, but I want to concentrate on the "important things"

Does this sound good to all?

What if someone just stops using his current username and just reregister under a different username?

Nothing happens, but if they have a good number of posts they will lose their gear level.

I think folks should be sure of the user name they are choosing...

Yup. I lost 514 posts to be exact.:D

I have had a request to change username from an established member. He is looking to 'rebrand' for track presence (or something).

Is this application process still open and is this the thread for it?

Nope. See instead FAQ: How do I change my screen name?
