Default Email notification of PMs

For the last month or so, email notifications of PMs have been arriving up to 48 hours after the PM itself.

I tried a search on this problem, but couldn't see any recent threads on the subject.

Is this a known issue or is it something I can address by changing my board settings?

I've not heard of a similar issue Shiskine, and I know others that get them immediately. Could it be something to do with your ISP checking for spam or something?

Are you using s2ki's member mail to receive the notices?

I don't receive notices but there should be no delay.

Just got another one today. "kevin" sent me a pm on 19/01 at 11.18 am (which the site notified me of immediately) and the email has just dropped into my Inbox at 12.10 pm today (21/01), albeit the message is timestamped per kevin's pm.

I use Thunderbird and it is set to check all my accounts at startup and at 10 minute intervals thereafter.

(Can forward the email in question if anyone thinks its properties may help diagnose the problem)

I don't see any problems with receiving PM notifications to my s2ki.com email address however if you want me to take a look at it, I can do so.

Please send me a PM or an email with the complete message headers. I don't know how to display those in Thunderbird but there is no doubt an option to view message headers or similar. Cut/paste the headers of the email and send to me; that will show the routing of the message, what servers it passed through and at what time.

Doh! I'm afraid I've susbequently deleted that message. Assuming it happens again, I send you details of the next one.

Is it worth me trying my Gmail address in place of my s2ki address?

Just noticed that I'm missing some email notifications for subscribed topics, forums and PMs. Not all of them, but some of them (I guess you could say it's been kinda intermittent... more noticably within the last hour). They might just be lagging. I'm aware that cthree is doing some work on the site, so perhaps he's already aware of this, but in case he's not, now he is.
