Rewrite Rule
Is it possible to set up some server rules for direct and simple access to a particular forum.
For example: Enter: https://www.s2ki.com/aus And the rule rewrites it as: http://beta.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=30 I do this for all sorts of stuff on our servers. The reason I would like it is because I would like to produce some stickers and hats for Aus S2000 owners to promote the site in general and our forum in particular and would like to get this in place first. |
I'm probably not getting what you're trying to do but the following gets me directly to your forum:
http://beta.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=30 If I wanted to go directly there each time, I would just bookmark it. :thinker: |
I think he wants the new address to put on hats, stickers, etc. that both looks better and is easier to remember hoping to get more new memership in that particular forum.

Yep, it's a case of transferable simplicity.
I don't want to print: http://beta.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=30 on the back of a hat. Here's an example on my server. Go to: http://www.byteserve.com.au/news/geeks < an easy to remember or write URL It takes you to a news article from our content management system loaded in the web sites frameset. The actual URL for that page is: http://www.byteserve.com.au/news.taf?_func...l&findkey=geeks which is not very easy to remember or print across the back of a hat unless you have a very big head. |

https://www.s2ki.com.au/ would be awesome, but we have some hoops to jump through here to get a '.com.au' domain. It must be based on a registered business name. No big deal, I can just register it at Consumer Affairs.

s2ki is a registered business - in the USA :D Speak to cthree, I would suggest.

Sheez, it's an up hill battle this morning.
AE - a .com.au requires a registered business name in Aus. Stratocaster - I know, but if S2ki want/allow the .com.au I don't have a problem paying for it and doing the running around. |
