I took another stab at fixing search (cause I hate to lose) and I might have it working reasonably well. YMMV.

 

Yip-yaa! Yup. It's working... albeit slowly. Seems to be returning more accurate results also.

Yeah, it's not going to be very fast but it should be reasonable (less than a minute to search all forums). When picking a smaller forum subset it seemed much quicker than all forums, any date.

I'm not sure how it will hold up under load but we'll find out Monday I suppose.

I have a design quirk issue I would like to bring to the search table. When you select to search by more options on the right the refine search (by time. "Search posts from...
Older/Newer" the default is "30 days ago and newer" But I would think most searches are for older threads/posts?

 

I'll defer that until v5 comes out. There is an endless amount of tweaking that could gbe done but I really have a lot to do for v5 so I'm really just trying to deal with the major stuff as far as v4 is concerned.

No, the corner is specifically excluded. It accounts for almost a third of all posts and is largely nonsense.
