Default Unsubscribe

I posted about this once before but heard little back. Personally I find the method of unsubscribing from a thread really backwards. If I'm notified about a thread or currently reading one I can't unsubscribe. Surely that would make sense.

Instead I have to go to MyS2ki, find the thread management option, locate the thread by name (and considering that most of the threads I wish to unsubscribe from are some variant on 'Please help, I can't be bothered writing and actual question' that ain't easy), check it's checkbox and scroll to the bottom to Unsubscribe.

I guess the reason I bring this up is that in a previous version there was an Unsubscribe link in the notification email. Perfect. And Also an Unsubscribe option in the thread itself. ANd an unsubscribe option in the MyS2ki option. Lovely.

Is there a reason these options have gone missing?

Does anyone else miss them?

While I'm having a whinge.

I also miss the topic titles in notification emails. I get up in the morning (or early afternoon ) and there is a list of S2ki posts. I have to open them to know what they are about. No big deal, but it was great in the previous incarnation where I could sort the wheat from the chaff without even viewing them.

How have they done missing?? I don't recall those option ever being there in the first place. I haven't changed anything to do with topic subscription in over a year that I recall. Maybe the new v5 update will solve the issue for you.

I was reading the email notification and thinking, 'Perhaps this guy hasn't been around as long as me".

In V3 (I presume) each thread had an unsubscribe link, the email notifications had an unsubscribe link and the email title contained the thread name.

That's almost true

To be honest I can't recall what v3 had anymore, I've been looking at v4 so long. v5 is substantially more advanced, the base software will jump 5 full revisions from 1.3 to 2.1 so there is a good chance some of these things will be taken care of. I haven't looked into that part of it to know yet.

I've wanted to unsubscribe to whole forums. Can't find a way to do that, either.
