Angry Devouring oil - 1 quart every couple hundred miles

I already lost a motor to oil starvation, not realizing how much oil this car consumes. I replaced it with a 111k mile F20C that had good compression numbers. Since putting it in, I've been going through massive amounts of oil. I did a Track Night in America event, and after every 20 minute session, the car went from H to L on the dipstick. Since then I've mostly been doing street driving, and even then I'll have to top off the oil every couple hundred miles. Most recently, I reset the trip meter when I last topped it off, and checked the dipstick at 100 miles - oil levels dropped halfway from H to L.

What the hell is going on? I'm using Red Line 5w30. Most of my driving is around town hitting 50mph max, while shifting somewhere between 6k and 9k rpm. I don't notice any leaks, nor do I see any blue smoke. This level of oil consumption can't possibly be normal.

Do a compression check....either it is burning it or it is leaking it....look under the car, see if there is a leak that happens with the engine being on?
Absolutely not normal, your plugs should be oil soaked at this point if it is burning it...same with tail pipe...so maybe there is a leak under load?

My car does the same thing with every oil besides Castrol Syntec (now Edge I think). Amsoil, Redline, everything. This car needs an oil with a high shear strength above everything or it'll go right through it.

Type of oil and valve seals are probably shot also.

Clearly not normal. Need to sort out if there is a leak. If not, find out how is oil getting into the cylinders and then correct the cause.

My F20 used to drink oil for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until it finally oil starved on track (check your rear main seal). Yours seems extremely excessive. The best thing I've ever done for my car was swap the F20 out for an 04-05 F22. I know the last thing you probably want to do is swap the motor again, but so far I have no oil consumed on the street and only down one hash mark on the dipstick after 2 back to back track days. It's nice not having to top off the oil more often then I fill up the gas tank.

I had excessive oil use about like yours and wound up reducing it by 1) getting a new PCV, and 2) finding three minor leaks probably made worse because of the clogged PCV.

At that rate, prolly burning the oil. If it were a leak, you be making a huge oily mess of the garage and/or engine compartment.

New PCV valve is under $30 and takes 5 minutes to swap out. Won't hurt to replace it regardless if it doesn't completely solves the problem.
