It's our oldest sons 44th birthday. We're babysitting our Grandchildren so Mom and Dad can go party.

When our kids were growing up we invented the 8:30 rule. If you were still sleeping at 8:30am you were fair game. That meant your brother could wake you up anyway he wanted without repercussions. A lot of ice water was dispensed between the two but eventually it worked. The first one up would quietly lay in wait for 8:30. It worked. Nobody slept in past 8:30. .

This morning at 6am our granddaughter was laying in wait for her older brother. She clocked watched all morning. Her older brother is now wet and awake.

I guess the 8:30 rule tradition lives on
