ice hockey 2019-2020 season
Labor Day holiday is over, let the hockey season begin!! Pre-season games start soon. If you're a hockey fan join us here to cheer on your team.
Niklas Kronwall, the Red Wings hard hitting defenseman announced his retirement today. For us Wings fans that means we will not being hearing "You got Kronwalled!" and we will not have to watch him give painful interviews after another Wings loss. Kronwall was a class act. He will be joining our new GM, Steve Yzerman, who you may have heard of. Another class act. No one is expecting the Wings to win a cup this coming season but making the playoffs is certainly a reasonable goal with their many new players.
And maybe, just maybe, in another year or two we can hoist the cup, a tradition Ted Lindsay began as a way to say Thank You to the fans. As terrible Ted later said, “I was very aware of who paid my salary,” Lindsay explained. “It wasn’t Red Wings owner Mr. [James] Norris, it was the fans who sat in the seats. I just went all the way around the boards to let them see it."
Who do you think will hoist the cup this season?

I always loved the Redwings, living 2 hours from Detroit, and working in Windsor a few days each month gives me some attraction to the wings. While I'm not a huge Toronto fan I would love to see them win a cup, just as much as the Canadiens. My three teams that I root for.
Hey Emil.... Moved two weeks ago about 30 miles North from Massachusetts into New Hampshire so am a tad behind on a lot of things.
As for you Dave..... As Thumper's mother said: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all...!!!"
