Default Home exercise equipment - Do you use it, or hang clothing on it?

Rick had a new treadmill delivered today. His previous one of many years bit the dust in the spring. He didn't rush out to replace it as he was busy with yard work and cars, and we'd be out walking when weather was nice. Now weather isn't so nice. It's time to exercise indoors, he doesn't care to join a gym. He still has an exercise bike. He used to alternate between the two pieces of equipment, as too much walking bothers his feet, so he hadn't decided if he was going to replace the treadmill.

The other night we started to talk about it and I thought it must be boring to only use an exercise bike so we ordered the treadmill. I thought I might use it as well. I don't enjoy it, but I also don't enjoy sitting too much. As mentioned, it arrived today, and I just did two miles on it. I usually walk further when outside but boredom sets in quickly on a treadmil. I listen to music while using the treadmill, TV would not do it for me.

We all know much of the exercise equipment purchased ends up being an extension of a closet. One of the questions regarding this model was "how many coats can it hold?" The answer 300 pounds worth!

What about the rest of you who own exercise equipment? Do you use it or should we have looked on Craig's List to see what you were selling?

Our treadmill made a nice addition to the basement, where it conveniently is used for hanging clothes and other items that can't fit anywhere else.
Needless to say: I HATE IT!!!
Had I known you were in the market, I would have gladly shipped it to you.

We had a tread mill years ago and it got very little use. I did like the ones that I used during my heart rehab but they were ridiculously expensive!

The hardest part of using a treadmill is getting ON the treadmill. Ours is in the basement in front of a TV that has cable, streaming channels, etc. Rick likes the TV watching something on Net Flix or Amazon,......no commercials.

I go to the Y for the fitness classes, but there are plenty of people using treadmills, or other kinds of equipment. To each their own. I like someone telling me/showing me what to do when I'm at the gym. The social aspect that comes with the fitness classes is a bonus as well.

I use my 'mill and elliptical a lot, when I'm exercising regularly. I'll go months using it almost every day, followed by months not using it at all.

Amazon provided free shipping. We paid $20.00 for a "room specified" delivery. Delivery guys brought it into the basement and Rick assembled it there. The thing weighs 193 pounds so $20.00 plus a tip for the delivery guys was well worth Rick not having to move it around.

Basically with Bill.
We've got more gym equipment than you can shake a ski pole at. stationary bike, treadmill, multigym, curling station, hip sled, skiers edge,
There are times it gets used a lot. And times it sits and sits and sits.
Although it is the time of the year where it tends to get used more since getting outside is unpleasant.
Out of all of it I like the bike the most.
When I was skiing I used to love the skiers edge. brutal workout in a short time.
The longest I ever used it was 3 minutes at a time but that was doing 300-400 moguls. Legs would be on fire.

This is our winter treadmill. We are talking about starting it again soon. Its a short 3-mile drive to a mall that has really flat smooth walkways with very, very little shopper traffic; over 50% are generally other walkers. The plus is the people watching while walking.

Enjoy it while it's open. I fear malls will soon be disappearing.

I know. I don't understand how the other one in town can exist. It does have a Walmart at one end. . . . still when I walk through it its bare of people. This one is right on I-94 and has lots of traffic due to Best Buy, etc. and places like Texas Roadhouse nearby. Still the Sears store there is closed now. Days are numbered; but so are mine.
