Default Alexa has moved in with us.....not sure if this is a good thing.

We have allowed Amazon's Alexa into our home. I got a free device when I renewed my satellite radio subscription. Truth be told, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I've got one sister totally hooked on this type of device even ordered one for her car! Loves being able to request specific music or whatever else Alexa does. I never felt the need for this gadget and sometimes roll my eyes when people go on and on about how great these devices are.

I can now stream/play Satellite Radio through this device, as a Prime Member I can also ask for "Beatles Music" and I think she will play Beatles music until I tell her to stop. I no longer have to look out the window to see what the weather is, I can just ask Alexa. Still I'm not so sure that this device isn't just too "big brother-ish."

Anyone listening in in your house?

Alexa not only listens to every thing spoken in your house. Amazon is also recording everything it hears for posterity

My sis in FL has it. I thought it was weird, but amusing. No interest in getting it myself.

I love my Alexa. I only have it in one room (bedroom), I haven't upgraded so it controls other electronic items in the house.

I hear some men like having a woman around who actually listens to what they have to say.

So she only controls the electronic things in the bedroom ? ......... That actually sounds useful
