Default Holiday decorating - When do you start?

Most of you know that I'm not much of a holiday person. Calling my holiday decorations minimal is still overstating..... However, in honor of my sister who passed who LOVED Christmas and decorating, I've purchased a nice selection of Christmas earrings. I will start wearing them on Thanksgiving and will wear a pair every day until Christmas. She'd like that and it's an easy way to "decorate" for the holidays.

Dave/dlq is probably already helping Donna dig out the Christmas decor. What about the rest of you?

Well, Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. Sort of one after another. I already brought down all the Christmas boxes from the attic if that counts as starting. Barbara went though the snowmen. We are going to give some away to our daughter this week.

This year I may get a "fresh cut" tree again. We have used an artificial for the past three or four years, time for a change.

We decorate the inside of the house with nick-nacks and a tree. The only thing you can see from the outside are small candles in every window.

Sometime in December....the closer to the 25th the better. We don't do outside lights anymore.

We usually put up our Christmas decoration when we get back from Thanksgiving break. They also come down the day after Christmas and put away until next year.

I help my mom put up a small tree (about 5’) and lighted candles in the windows. My sister and her family go all out for Christmas- and yes, they do have the inflatable RV from ‘A Christmas Vacation ‘.

I have a couple boxes of decorations that have been in the living room since last Christmas. I had a plan to go through the storage unit before putting them back. Well, the +1 and just did that a couple of weeks ago, so I guess I can put the stuff up this year, then put them back.

I would put it off forever, but usually the +1 asks me to get the tree down and the boxes of decorations out the weekend after Turkey Day. Maybe she'll forget this year? Not likely.

I'm usually excited to see Christmas come but this is the first year without my Mom so I'm a bit down about the Holidays this year but I am going to decorate. I''ll decorate after Thanksgiving I put a display out on my dining room table and have a few things I put up around the house. My Dad usually makes outdoor wreaths for everybody in the family so I will get that at Christmastime when I see him and then put it up when I get back home. I'm never in a rush to take the decorations down I usually go well into January. My landlord has Christmas lights stringed on their deck railing that they leave on year round so our property looks festive..
