Default Rosie will be gone by next weekend

I put my car up for sale and got 4 prospects within 2 days. I've already had 2 firm offers neither of which I've accepted. A local will be test driving it in the morning. He'll probably get my preference if his offer is in the ballpark. I'd be more than happy to act as a resource for the local owner. I may actually get my asking price of $19.5K.

It'll be sad to see Rosie go but I need a senior cruiser sporty car for these old bones.

$19,500 is a real bargain for your S.

Sorry to hear this, Harry. What year and what's your mileage, well, Rosie's mileage?

What will occupy your garage next?

Yes, Emil. I think that it's worth something north of $23K but I wanted it gone before spring and the related temptation to keep it. I did not, however, expect it to move this quickly.

It's a 2004, Lainey, and it's got just north of 96K miles. It's very well kept. The S2000-oriented shop where I take it for stuff that I don't have the tools to do say that it's the cleanest S2000 that's ever been in the shop. I'm a bit fussy about stuff. My son grins widely when he's with me and I open my dresser draw or cloths closet because everything is exactly in its proper place. Like they taught me about cleaning up in the Marine Corps, they can't follow you if they don't know that you've been there.

I'm inclined to go back to the German cars that I drove for 40 years. A neighbor has an MB SLC AMG 43 he's selling at a nice price and a local dealer has a 2017 MB SL400 that's also attractively priced. I like MB because I found over the years that they are easier to work on than BMW and Porsche, especially BMW.

Really sorry to hear this Harry. I'll miss seeing you and Rosie but you're always welcome no matter what you're driving.

Thanks Ken.

Did your friend ever buy that car that I vetted out for him?

He did. He'll be at the Dragon with it in May. I'll get some pix for you.

Harry, its hard to imagine you without out an S2000. I still smile about the time I foolishly asked for a lift around the South Haven track to see the difference between my stock car and your modified one! I was always happy I had my loving MG to fall back to when I sold my S2000 on the first day I listed it to a neighbor where its been sitting in his garage unused for the past two summers. I suspect he has some leg issues but can't bring himself to sell it. Its always good to know when to let go.
