Default Tomcatt 2020 - The Route 555 Side of the Drive

The Tomcatt is named in memory of Tom Curda (aka Tomcatt) who passed away May 24th, 2006. This meet is very special to many of us as it combines two of the best thing about S2000 ownership:

Friendship: Many of the friendships made at the Tomcatt have continued throughout life's twists and turns and have transcended the actual ownership of the car. Everyone at the Tomcatt meet is a friend.

The Drive: The roads of southern Ohio are full of twisties and elevation changes; perfect for the S2000. You will drive through rural areas complete with rivers, forests, farms and covered bridges. The drive starts with the run up Ohio Rt. 555 to get you warmed up and ready for the afternoon's fun. Lunch in Zanesville, Ohio and the return down Rt. 555 to Marietta, Ohio. This is a spectacular rollercoaster of a road. The drive takes about 4 hours. There will be a lunch break and a stop for gas. If you like to challenge your car and yourself and you enjoy the sound and feel of VTEC, this is the drive for you! If you like to have fun when behind the wheel, this drive will not disappoint. Expect to drive the way the car was meant to be driven!

Please clarify the date. Your registration link says June 12.
Also, shouldn't it be Woodsfield, OH instead of Morristown? I am confused.

Yeah, caught that. I couldn't get a block of rooms for those dates and looked at my wrong set of notes. Zanesville for lunch. A better lunch place was found and I verified our reservations this morning before I saw your message.

FWIIW: To anyone that may be new to this drive. It is worth doing for more than the reason stated above (Both Car & Driver and Auto Week named it one of the ten best drives in America for Sports Cars or Sport Bikes). If one is attending from the Mid-Atlantic states to the South East the drive to Marietta, Ohio via some of the back roads of West Virginia make this meet one of my favorites over the years, because the drive there and back are almost as good as the meet's drive on Saturday. Over the years that I have been attending this meet I have looked at roads in WV on Google Maps and Google Earth and have programmed towns into my Garmin GPS that make the drive out and back almost as good as the meet. There are many roads in WV where the posted speed limit is 55 MPH, but even in an S-2000 one can only obtain that speed about thirty percent of the time. So they are perfect S-2000 roads, unless one gets stuck behind a logging truck or other person that never looks in their mirror to pull off and let you drive by. Which brings up another point: Is seems that the locals on Rt 555 or Rt 26 know that these roads attract people like us, and more often than not, they will pull off to let us by. If we are lucky.

Room booked!

The gentleman at the desk said the code is "TCG" not "Tomcatt 2020"!
