The guy that owns NY Safety Track where we have track days periodically has one of those 1/8 or so scale planes.

 

In the town where I live, St. Charles, IL, there is an aero-club with it's own air field that's just over 90 years old. The air field is 2 miles from my house. Each year they have an event called the Windy City Warbirds and Classics. It's three solid days of large and giant model aircraft. It is packed. You have to get there at the crack of dawn to get a parking space. It's amazing.

 

My next door neighbor owns the Hobby Hanger in Chantilly, VA. If is is Radio Controlled he sells it. He even has an RC eighteen wheeler.

My favorite plane of his is his 1/20 scale Corsair that has RC folding wings, canopy and a 125CC Radial engine that at idle sounds just like the real thing. He has about $12.5K in that one. He also has an F-16 with a jet engine that turns 146,000 RPM that he has about $15K into.

Talk about high priced toys!
