WHich Honda can we trust to work on the S2K?
Hi all,
This newbie...is having some minor problems with my gears....anyways, sometimes it is hard to shift into 1st gear especially in the morning now maybe in the winter time I understand the issues but SUMMER?
I think I need this checked out by Honda because I have the 6 year 100,000 warranty and this should be covered.
Please let me know WHERE I should bring it to if there are any HONDA Dealears that know what an S2000 is.....when it comes to fixing them.....
Please also correct me if I am wrong about the warranty.....
THanks everyone!

I have NO Problem trusting Speedstar...but like I said there might still be WARRANTY Coverage in case I need a new clutch or gearbox....for what ever god knows reason....my friends IS300 had the same deal everything NEW.....
I might just call them and ask for my alternatives....

Are you moving when you shift into first? Is it only when it's cold?
I can't get my car into first at all if I'm moving and it's cold. IE, when I first pull out of the garage in the morning, I have to stop COMPLETELY before it will go in.
I don't think it's a clutch problem, there's lots about this on the forum, it's just cold. After it warms up I can put it in first no problem under 20km/h about that I have to rev match.

I'd rather spend the money on something like this at Speedstar, it gets done right.
These guys work on S2000's daily, a local honda mechanic is nuts deep in a manual the entire time and still manages to leave parts behind.
Crazy

Well lets say I stop at a RED and then Clutch --> 1st --> VERY HARD AND TIGHT!!!
Not moving and shifting like we would into first let say in a parking lot....any leads in finding information on this......??? WHat key words should I use to search...."STUCK"?
As for going to Speedstar....I know it is the right thing to do but if I have coverage I don't wanna pay for HONDA issues...if I HAD TO PAY....Screw Honda I would go to Speedstar or even GANELY!!!!

On the other hand, almost every manual I've had had trouble getting into first.. shift into second, then into first.. see if it goes smooth, if it does, well then you can pull it apart, get new synchro's and shit, or you can do what I do every day, shift to second, then first.. you get used to it
If it doesn't grind I doubt it's the clutch. Sounds syncro related.
Mine did it most of the time as well. I would put it in 4th then up to 1st.
When you stop at the light do you put it in neutral and take your foot off the clutch? If so try pushing the clutch in for a few sec before the light turns green (ie when the other light turns yellow). It should slip right in easy then.
