Here's where F1 can learn from CART
I agree Simon.
And here is a funny story; at the Vintage Weekend at The Glen I was helping do hospitality for a race team, helping out a lady I know. Sunday morning I'm filling up a cooler with water and stuff so when the guys go out to the pits they have food. As I'm sort of running out from the hauler to the garage I nearly slammed into Bobby Rahal, grand marshal for the event. I stopped, apologized for almost smacking him; he smiled, said good morning and then apologized to me for getting in the way. Later in the day I saw him again and he smiled and said hello to me.
This type extremely relaxed and friendly atmosphere does a lot to develop fans, too bad tightwad Bernie does not get it. Somehow I just can't see something like this happening in F1; too bad!
