That'd be funny....if it weren't so close to the truth. I call for pizza and they know my number and address....though they still have the name of the person who last had my phone number. How about OnStar and TollTags? Or those grocery discount cards?

Looks like ACLU propaganda to me.

No doubt; but what's really funny is I had just finished watching the movie Matrix on HBO before I opened an emil from a friend with that like link. My friend sent me that because we have a mutual friend who has been convinced for a long time that the government & onstar, etc. are all getting ready to track everyone.

If that's true I hope they include Health Records. After my accident last fall I got really tired of filling out the same 5 or 6 page health forms everytime they sent me to another doctor. Seems like they could at least have a common database for that.

The head of research at Harvard Med School, who is also an ex-CIO, has injected himself with an RFID tag to see how they work in the body. His goal is to load all medical history in the ID tag and when you go to the doctor or hospital they run you by a reader and have your entire history.

No doubt
I took the link at the end, it was the ACLU. What is sad is that the government (TSA) is trying to get ALL of that information on line so that when you go to the airport, you can be identified. This will be coupled with facial recognition to complete one of the "Ashcroft directives"

Maybe filling out forms isn't so bad afterall. Probably ok for people who are on life long treatments. I'd just as soon carry an info card myself.

Remember when 1984 was the "dreaded future"? Now it's the "good ol' days".

Nearly everything Orwell warned us about how his totalitarian regime would use technology to control the populace has become common practice in our own government.

At least they didn't adopt the thing with the rats... I still have nightmares about that part.

Can you imagine if a typo is added... You'd be better off changing your name to match the typo then all the run around required to update a governement database.

I still get state tax info sent to my house with out my name but with my ex-wifes name and my current wife's name. So far it's been about 10 phone calls, 50 internet queries and two personal visits to the comptroller and still everything is screwed up.

Remeber how the military could not track the war lords in Somalia becasue they did not use technology?
