Default Anything good on T.V.?

I stopped watching T.V. a long time ago (that's why I have so much time to spend here). I lost patience for most of what was on, the rest I found insulting to my intelligence.

Every now and again, I stumble into something interesting on the History Channel or an old, old movie that I like, but I really can't think of much else that I would spend any time watching.

Still, I know that many people spend an enormous amount of money on all of the premium cable channels, home theatre, and satellite t.v. so there must be something good on. What do you watch? Is it worth watching? Is it good?

The answer to the question is "Anything good on TV"? Died, when Frazier went off the air.

IMO, it was perhaps the best sitcom ever produced for people that have a three digit IQ. I miss it dearly. I rank it up there with the likes of M*A*S*H and "All in the Family" as the best written sitcoms ever.

Most of my TV time is used to watch the dicovery channels, news, speed channel and an occasional sporting event. From Sept to Jan most of my Sundays are spent watching the NFL on Sunday Ticket.

I like The Amazing Race alot - have watched it from the beginning and now they have just wrapped up series #6 (last night)! Maybe because I love to travel and am always interested in the new places they visit and seeing places I've been to. The competition is interesting, too.

The last regular show that I watched regularly was KOJAK with Telly Sevalas

Now, the only thing that we watch most weeks is "Washington Week in Review" and, occasionally, "Antiques Road Show"

I used to watch The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel a lot, but since they have pretty much gone to the GenX reality TV format I now pick and choose what I want to watch there. I do watch some History Channel, but a lot of what's shown there is not factual. Film footage doesn't match the history being portrayed, and they tend to get a lot of their facts wrong. Doesn't surprise me, as THC is a part of the Discovery Channle group, and the mgmt and planners have been taken over by a younger crowd that doesn't care much for research and presenting facts as long as the story looks and sounds plausible.

I watched Wings a lot, but that's now become The Military Channel. I'm not much into watching continuous stories about the troops, so again I pick and choose.

I do watch Speed a lot, along with just about anything motorsports related. Cubs games, Law & Order and some of the (admittedly inaccurate) CSU type shows, Stargate and a lot of the rest of the SciFi stuff.

Mash reruns... a lot.

I stay far far away from any of the so called reality shows. They just don't do anything for me. Ditto for most sitcoms for the last 10 years or so. I never got into Sienfeld or Frasier. I don't really do football, basketball and hocky don't interest me at all.

Oh, and the Weather Channel

I use my home theater system primarily for movies. Martha watches "West Wing" religiously, and I have to admit that the show is nicely done. When they aren't running a Hitler/Nazi marathon, I'll watch Discovery, History, or one of the other documentary type channels with the exception of "The Learning Channel". Once upon a time TLC ran some fairly decent programming, but now I think they should be yanked off the air for false advertizing. One of my guilty pleasures is watching the Penn & Teller show, "Bull Sh**". I enjoy watching them make hamburger from some of our culture's sacred cows.
