I never realized that his daughter was gay!

She officially "came out" yesterday.

 

They have evidently known since she was in high school. Now that she has come out they have decided to disown her. I can't see how any parent can disown their own child imagine how she feels.

This happens pretty frequently. We have numerous clients who have chosen to disown or disinherit their adult kids because they don't agree with the way their children are living their lives. The reasons range from drug abuse, to relationship choices, to criminal convictions, to cult involvement. None of the parents do something like this lightly or without heartache.

It's sad and I hate to see any family torn apart.

He's a former US Ambassador to some UN concil. He ran as a Republican for the 2000 presidential election. This last election, he carpet-bagged into Illinois to run as a Republican to try and beat Obama who was running uncontested.

He writes and does commentary and talking head gigs from time to time.
