Thumbs up F-U-N

Now, I have fun with my S2000 and hanging with other S2000 people who are having fun with theirs. I love a line of S2000s on a drive, especially when they all stay on the road. In the past, well, I'll tell you later...

Now, or in your past, what stands out that you've done (or do) that is pure FUN for you?

Talk about a loaded question. I think I shall refrain from answering this one.

I live right by a ski mountain and they used to have a downhill mt. biking trail and I used to love doing that. Go up on the gondola with your bike and then it's straight down unfortunately they stopped that program. In the winter I go snowmobiling and that keeps the cabin fever away. We have over 5000 miles of groomed trails and it is just like a highway you can literally go from one end of the state to the other and everything is mapped out and all the trails are well marked. We do group rides like we do with our s2k's and have group events for fun and charity.

We do activities with the Triumph club, many of the members who are now close friends. Some of the annual activities include rallies (like scavenger hunts but done from the car with clues and hints), Redneck Rallye (weekend at the lake in which most of us float in the water and drink, getting out to eat occasionally, or maybe go for a boat ride), Pool Party, Regional and National Conventions (our club hosts the National convention in 2006), Red River Shootout (our club and the Oklahoma City club get together - usually about 50 people - and spend the weekend somewhere in between...much like the Redneck Rallye without the water), Tour of Lights (a drive through the most well-decorated area of Dallas and also a toy drive in which new toys are donated to a local charity...this last year we had about 25 cars participate and took 3-1/2 large garbage bags full of toys to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children), and an Annual Holiday Party (1st or 2nd weekend in January at a member's house who has an antique car museum in his backyard....seriously! He has an old Stanley Steamer, a 1930's...maybe...electric car, a 1930s or '40s fire engine...etc...and he always pulls one out to take everybody for a ride).

I also love Autocross...though not so much in the Triumph (unless there's one at a Regional or National Triumph event).

And if I could, I'd quit work and do gardening and yardwork and minor home remodeling-type stuff, which I find a lot of fun.

From a motoring perspective - autox and track - nothing beats the thrill of taking you S2000 out on the track.

Non-motoring - Home remodelling - sometimes ends up being more work than fun, the moat for example, but most of the time I enjoy it. I also love watching movies - so home theater.

In the summer when I was 19 (1977), I would drive to Arizona and the Colorado River at Parker, AZ, about 280 miles away. I used to love going there on weekends, by myself. I would float on a raft all day in the 100*F and then have some Cuervo Gold and hit the Sundance at night to dance. I had a blast dancing! Now I "dance" alone between weights in the garage. Andy doesn't dance.

Anyone else like to dance?

^ Yeah, I do...I used to go to a club here and dance, with a date or with some of the regulars who hung out. It was lots of fun. Then that place closed. Now I go to a couple of others, one rather upscale with a DJ and the other a biker bar that has live bands almost every night.

No dancing, not me.
But I love to take my Seadoo out on a nearby lake and haul ass, and jump boat wakes. Just upgraded last summer from 85 H.P. to 110 H.P. When I am shut in my office doing tax returns, my head is on the lake where there's no speed limit and smooth water ahead. Oh, I can't wait.
