Did Dodge ever have a unique logo?
There is a thread in the Car Talk forum talking about the (new) Toyota logo with the overlapping ovals, and it got me thinking about the logos for other car brands.
I remember that Dodge used to use the 5-pointed star as its logo, but then I also see it on Chrysler cars (I know they are the same company) during the 80s-90s, and so it seems the star is not a unique logo for Dodge. Now I go to the Dodge web site and I don't see any specific logo there at all -- only the ram's-head logo from the RAM trucks and the snake-head logo from the Viper. So was there ever a unique logo for Dodge?
It also seems that Chrysler has now adopted the "wings" logo and the star logo of Dodge has disappeared. My understanding is that the "wings" logo is very old and now being resurrected to give Chrysler a unique identity. But did Chrysler have another logo before the current "wings" design?
To make matters worse, I can not remember if Plymouth ever had its own unique logo either. Can someone help me out here? Thanks.

I think it's true that Dodge did not have a unique logo. Yes, the Chrysler star has been seen on Dodge products. I think the Ram branding it probably copyrighted/trademarked, and that's for a specific model.
Perhaps if you go back far enough, to Dodge's beginnings, you might find a unique trademark logo.
To be completely honest, I see nearly no brand differentiation between Chrysler and Dodge anyway. There was the Dart in the '60s/'70s, but that might've had a Chrysler equivalent - can't really remember. Indeed, besides the Viper, I see nothing specific to Dodge. Heck, they killed Plymouth, maybe they'll kill Dodge.
