Wedding anniversary ideas
Fellow vintage partners,
I started to post my thoughts in reply to Legal Billl's thread "....and then we die" when it occured to me that to live in the present and enjoy the greatest quality of life it would behoove me to start making plans for my upcoming 49th wedding anniversary instead of futuring for the 50th. Following the replies to Bill's thread I began to be circumspect that there may not be a tomorrow, yet alone a year of tomorrows, to come up with some special idea for the February event. If I don't come up with something special I am for certain that there will be no further tomorrows after the next anniversary date.
So I turn to you for your thoughts and reflectiions on what your spouses mean to you, and what you would consider as a special way of celebrating a rather meaningless anniversary in comparison to the one that will follow a year later. I have pulled many unusual stunts and surprises in the past, but to be perfectly frank I'm out of ideas for this one. Can anyone help?
I will try to get back on a daily basis if there are any replies, but things are a little hectic right now (as I'm sure they are for everybody).
Thanks for your help.
Alan

At 49 years, just the fact that you both still have each other would seem like a gift to me. Why don't the two of you just do something together that you both like. It doesn't have to be anything special, just something that you both like. The fact that you are doing it together is what makes it special.

^ What Chaz said.
And I wouldn't regard any of them as meaningless.

Our wedding anniversary is also my birthday. We try to take the day off from work every year and just spend the day together.
Congratulations on your 49th.
My idea would be to arrange a weekend somewhere. Make all the arrangements and tell her to pack a bag.

with Lainey. I'm always the one who makes the hotel reservations. A surprise would be nice.
I agree with Patty...do something for your wife that she would normally do. Those little gestures mean more to me than a big deal. But travel is always nice. If it's February, we can all go out to Honolulu for Colin's (Very) Unofficial Vintage Meet!
