The scientific part of this survey will come into play after we establish a baseline from which to begin to determine trends over a five year survey period. Please leave out any references to pies, bed sizes or why people don't post. Those topics will be handled in another poll scheduled for September 13, 2006. It will appear in the new sub-forum yet to be named.
We put up a fake tree, because we have to have a tree, since we have a granddaughter. Rick puts lights outside and we have a couple of the lighted deer too.
Someone took "liberties" with our deer last night and placed them in a compromising position! (I have a picture too).
Here's a pic from last year. Not exactly lit up like Vegas.
We don't put up anything, nor do we have a tree. Since we don't usually have any children here over the holidays I don't see the point. However, if my wife had her way, there would be lights and decorations all over the place, and the dogs would be suffering the indignity of having to wear fake reindeer horns.
Actually a combo of several items including icicle lights, LED lights on the outside. Fake tree inside but well off the floor this year with a 9 month old Lakeland Terrier Numerous santa's elves reindeer etc all over the upper floor and basement shelves again above puppy level. But I do not think she will go for the antlers on her head !!
MaggieMae,
Let's see some pics....of your puppy too
Here's a couple of our tree....outside we have some icicle lights but nothing big
We're picking up our new puppy next week....yellow lab and I can't wait
First the garage and now this. Dr T, are you for real? What a great room!! And puppy!! Are sure these aren't just random pictures off the internet?
Ops, back to the topic. My wife goes nuts for most holidays but Xmas is by far the worst. I swear she wants to turn every room into a scene from her youth. . . a Hudson's store Christmas display. I conservatively guess we have a least 40 storage boxes of Xmas items.
Every single room has items!! Literally every wall, every window, every shelf, everywhere.......... and then there's the outside.
I will describe just ONE room to give you an idea; a VERY small bathroom with a sink and toliet:
- Santa lights around the mirror.
- A Xmas tree you push to play music stuck to the mirror.
- A Xmas scene (church, trees, pond, people, cars, etc.) on the shelf above the toilet
- Two Xmas towels hanging from it.
- A wall hanging needle point Xmas decoration above that.
- Naturally the toilet itself has a Xmas wrap that goes over the lid (doesn't everyone?)
- A matching cover for the flat area of the holding tank, which of course has Xmas ornaments on it (ie, a raindeer with lights, etc.).
- Then there is the Xmas decorated towels on the towel rack as well.

We're not putting up any decorations this year, other than the little tabletop tree Hilly bought a few days ago.
We're just not in the mood this year...
Tom, I can't imagine how tough it must be but a positive attitude is essential. The hope of progress with new drugs is always there and many of us pray it will be sooner rather than latter.
