Default Design concepts for the next S2000

You may recall that Honda arranged for the College of Creative Studies in both Calif. and in Mich. to have a class project to design what the next S2000 should look like. Back in Oct. I was one of the S2000 owners that went to the Detroit school to offer the students a chance to explore our cars first hand and to hear our thoughts on what made the S2000 great and what, as owners, the future design elements should include.

Yesterday, just 8 short weeks later, I had an opportunity to return to photograph their clay models. As you will see, some are completely done and others are clearly still works in progress. Honda will select the work of two students to be shown at the next level. Also, I understand the work of all students will be available for viewing at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Here's the link to my photos:

Feel free to comment on the ideas, likes and dislikes. Honda is watching and interested in feedback.

The models look great. I think the original S2000 design will hard to be outdone.

Interesting concepts!!! I see a bit of "Formula" and also a bit of "retro" in some of them. Thanks for sharing!

Those students did a better job of it than the ones in Pasadena. I liked the first red one the best except it's not a convertible.

I went to the initial meeting in Pasadena where we told the students what we liked and didn't like. We weren't given the info in time to go see the models they came up with, but I did look at the photos posted.
