Default How will you spend your holiday?

So how will most of you spend your holiday?

We had my family here last night. It was total chaos and people everywhere. I think that's what the holiday is supposed to be.

We will visit some friends tonight, and tomorrow our son, daughter in law, granddaughter and my sister and her husband will join us for dinner and of course presents.

I need a nap already.

The movers are coming to pack our household goods next Tuesday so we will spend this weekend organizing for our move. It will be a very quiet time for our family. We may have to go out for a Christmas dinner at a local Chinese restaurant that will be open tomorrow. Have fun!

Pretty quiet this year...the +1 is up in NJ with his kids. I'll be visiting with Auntie and my parents tomorrow for awhile. Just as glad I'm here right now, since the +1's family are avid Giants fans. But the Skins are winning in the 4th 35-20! Woohoo!! I hope it holds up.

Lainey, if you would just quit asking questions like this, I could go finish Andy's present. Geez.

We had the granddaughter and son over this morning, since in today's climate of single parenting/two households for a child, today was my son's day with his daughter and tomorrow is her mom's day. We had gift opening for Kacey and enjoyed seeing that, had pizza for lunch and lots of Christmas cookies, etc. for dessert. Tonight my daughter, my son (without his daughter) and a friend or two are coming over for hor de ourves and desserts. We'll either go to midnight church or early morning church and our youngest daughter will have lunch with us on Christmas Day. Tomorrow will be a difficult day that will be spent between two families, so I'm not ever overjoyed at this time of year and I never get to spend the whole day with my beloved. This will hopefully be the last Christmas that we'll spend at home. We're hoping that next year we'll be able to plan a trip with the youngest and not be here on Christmas Day. Since the kids are pretty much grown and the grandkids are either teens or near teens, Christmas has become a time that we like to just spend some time with those we love and leave off all this buying/giving/getting. We have a little trip planned next week that will be far more joyful than the ratrace tomorrow will be.

I'd love to be gone somewhere for Christmas, and bypass the madness, but we're not there yet.

Enjoy your trip next week!

We going to celebrate our first South Florida Christmas with breakfast on the beach. I suppose the bagels we're having (or if not merely the bagles, then surely the lox and cream cheese) provide some sort of irony, but that's just fine. HPH
