Matt_inVA is going to So Cal
I will be in San Diego next week for a trade show at the Convention Center. I have not been to San Diego since 2004. If there are any hot new restaurants of places to check out (especially around the Gas Light District) please let me know. I would appreciate any post with info.
Thanks.
Matt
Matt, I was just thinking of going there tomorrow. My sister's step-daughter is getting married tomorrow and the SD crew is having a tech day on Sunday, which I though I would drop in on. Almost in town when you will be.
Matt,
There' s no shortage of sights downtown. You're also 10 minutes from the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and the ferry ride over to Coronado island is fun and scenic. Peohe's (spelling) right at the ferry landing is a perennial favorite for eating, for its view as much as the food, and Hotel Del Coronado is a short taxi ride away. Coronado by car is easy as well.
Have fun!

There is little doubt in my mind that my new co-worker that has never been to San Diego before will be making my "Obligatory Run" to the Hotel Del for an early evening libation before dinner somewhere.
We will not have much free time at all. As we fly in on Sunday night, have to locate our equipment and set up the booth on Monday the show runs from Tuesday to Thursday and we fly out Friday morning. Pretty much another trip for me, where I get to see the inside of a hotel room while dealing with e-mails and the inside of a convention center, then fly back home.
