Default The market drop on Friday was........

BARRETT JACKSONS fault.

Did you see what kind of prices they were paying? There's an 8 percent overide above that.

Out of the market and into a car or two.

Portfolio diversification at it's finest.

Except that cars aren't good investments.

rob prices for the exact same vehicle from last year, just rerunning it through the auction... 30 percent plus return. And you get to drive it.

A million one hundred thousand for a chevy ss.

WOW

I know. I watched part of the auction on Friday night. I couldn't believe the prices either. I'm sure there must be some shills and some people bidding on their own cars to drive the prices up.

I saw a 57 Chevy go for $95,000. I find that hard to believe. To paraphrase an old expression, "That's a lot of money even if they didn't get it."

I did not watch this latest go round, as I almost watching it the last time around. A true 1930's classic did not meet the reserve and yet Corvettes where bringing $175,000.

Just goes to show that money does not buy one class or taste.

There are people with more money than brains

Just because one can afford it, does not mean one deserves to have it (in some cases).

There is an A** for every seat!

A fool and his money is soon parted.

Take your pick which one of these applies to some of the purchases that you witnessed.

I've been watching the B/J auction a bit this week and all I can think of when I see the "exuberance" is the internet stock days of the late 90's.

I think that bald guy bought more than anyone and he OVERPAID on everything. Not by just a little bit either. Even the pros were shaking their heads. He bid like an idiot.

He looked familiar too, anyone know who he is?

I watched it all day yesterday (Saturday) and the prices are simply mindboggling.
The big bald guy certainly has diverse taste. Must be a plumbing conractor or a lucky sperm?
