Default ALU - Alcatel Lucent

I work for Alcatel, now Alcatel-Lucent and have a ton of options. Unfortunately, most are under water. Since I work in the semiconductor industry (a small division of Alcatel), I do not follow telecom that closely and really do not fully understand what this merger means long term.

Anyone in telecom have any thoughts on what this means for the 2, now 1 company? Does it fall in with the ol' saying of "two wrongs don't make a right," or is it akin to algebra (-1 X -1 = +1).

Intersted in your thoughts

I think you should go for 2 reasons. The first is that you are already heavily invested by way of your job, talk about putting your eggs in one basket. Second I see no catalyst to drive your stock higher anytime in the next 12 months. Get out and put the money in something that will get you better returns. It's too hard to be objective when you are in the forest. That stock has done nothing but go sideways for 3 years and it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. If you have a legitimate reason to own ALU then go out and buy some when the time comes. Now isn't the time.
