Default Re using shims with new brake pads

I'll be changing at least my front pads before Rockingham next week. This will be the 4th set of front pads in 13k miles

For each of the pads i've had so far i've reused the original shims that were on the car when i bought it. I'm wondering if i actually need to use the shims with the new ferodo pads. Anyone running without shims? Are the pads noisy?

Stealthy isn't, IIRC. He's had no brake squeal problems (he's running Porterfields like me).

Might try it at Rockingham then. I won't care if they're squeeling when i'm on the track.
