Default Aaarrrggh, what are people like!

It looks as though my bad luck has followed me to my new car.

Just noticed that some oaf has bumped into my car, probably last night when it was raining heavily.

This will definitely not polish out, there are several deep scratches, some red paintwork transfered onto my car and the whole thing has been pushed in so that it has formed creases following the inner door frame.

Needless to say I am pi**ed off. However, I think it is may be a neighbour who caused this (and needless to say did not own up). They parallel parked next to me last night. I noticed that they had were struggling to get into the space and had stalled right next to my car?I really should have checked it yesterday, but thought nothing of it.

Needless to say I have checked their car and there is damage on their rear n/s bumper which appear to correspond with the damage to my car (there is silver paint on their car, at the right height to within a few mm) Oh, and it's a red car.

Do you think it's worth putting a note on their car and seeing if they will come clean?

Yes

Take pics anyway-use a ruler to show size of the scratches.

It is tempting, but knowing my luck, I would probably set fire to myself instead (and my house)

I've put a note on their car as I am not sure exactly which house they live in.

Being charitable, it was like a monsoon yesterday. It is possible they just did not realise they had bumped my car.

Unfortunately, if they deny it, there is probably very little I can do about it. I'll take some pics of their car tomorrow at the crack of dawn anyway.

if there is a crease and it has gone through the paint then it could cost hundreds of pounds

pictures followed by a knock on their door...

I'd make sure you get photos of both cars asap.

Before they have chance to polish theirs up.

Fingers crossed they have an attack of the guilt but I would also suggest reporting to the police if they don't have a change of heart.

Right, photos taken off their car, will set the alarm so I can get up first thing to get some better piccies in the daylight.

Nice idea saying the police will match the paintwork.

My last S2000 was keyed and it cost me nearly

Don't forget to take photos of the height of the scratches, so that there can be no doubt that it was him, then....
