Default What if the top motor dies?

OK...maybe this is a stupid question, but I've been wondering if a person can raise the top manually should the top motor die? Sorry if this re-hashes a previous question however I searched the archive, and did not get any specific hits.

Just how reliable is the top motor under normal conditions/ light to moderate use. It should at least last a good part of the cars life...shouldn't it?....Mommy?
