SCCA Geneva AutoX videos from this last weekend...
We ran a 'test event' this last weekend at SCCA's new Geneva site to test out the asphalt, and see how the new facility would run... this was a LOT of fun to be involved in, and thank you very much to SCCA for the invite
Unfortunately, my car is still dead, so i was able to thumb a ride from Willie Gee this weekend, and drive his car...
Here is a vid of Willie Gees best run of the day:

You'll notice that i tried to stay far away from his redline (got enough verbal warnings about it from bill, i decided to come nowhere near it if i could help it... lol!) so, i wound up shifting into 3rd a few times when i shouldn't have, and short-shifted the 1-2 shift as much as i could... Also, there was a high-speed slalom portion of the course that i was a little gun-shy about, since i had just watched another guy in an s2000 that had a LOT more grip, oversteer and wind up punting itself off the track and into the palmetto bushes on the side of the road... and i frankly didn't want to accomplish a similar thing in Bills car
I wound up 9-hundredths of a second slower than Bill... but he was a LOT smoother than i was, and negotiated the tight 180 degree turnaround much cleaner than i did on my best run
It was a LOT of fun though!
I'd like to have had another 3 or 4 runs at the same course...
But anyway, the new Geneva site is awesome! The asphalt is so clean and new, and there are a lof of course options with the bigger lot. This course will become a 'normal' course for us to run in the 2009 season. Looking forward to it!

WOW!!! That course looks incredibly fun!!!! I love how they had you go right the first time through and then left for the finish the second time.....
Really bummed I missed out on that event since I won't be here next year. Its good to be well known in the auto-x region I guess!!

The course was alot of fun. Watching Terry's S2000 (driven by his brother in law) go off course wasn't fun.
It was probably the fastest autocross I've been on--and the longest. I think I had it at just .8 miles long or so.
Great vids John
