Selling my S
I am seriously thinking of selling my Y2K S2K. Had it for almost 9 years. I'm getting a little older and thinking of a quiet sedan. I have been away from the forum for awhile. Don't know what it's worth, but it only has 43K miles and has always been well maintained. What can I expect to get?
Thanks

I've been shopping for an S2000 for about a month now ... and it is really amazing how cheap they are getting. Even the pristine ones are getting beat up. I am starting to feel good about the buyout price from my insurance company after i totalled mine.
Good luck
It is true. The prices of "luxury" items now a days is plummeting. However there are always those people out there that just have to have an S2000. Just don't expect to sell the car as fast as you would have 2 years ago. And, with AP2's bringing >$16k I wouldn't expect to get more than $12k for yours. Some people, like me, do appreciate how great the original S2000 is. But the general census is that newer is better. If you are thinking of selling it just post it up in our for sale section and see how it goes. Or you can throw it autotrader. Either way like I said don't expect it to sell right away, but if you can wait on it the right person will come along. By the way if you need help finding a nice sedan let me know. I can find you what you are looking for and save you alot of money.
Hey Don
hope you are well
Promote the car as what it is an early 2000 S2000. As an early car with a low production number, the car should fetch a bit more than others. You are the original adult owner and the car has not been moded other than wheels and a few small things. Having the red interior is also a plus.
I would start the car at $14,900 and try to stay close to that number. Treat the car as it is, a modern classic and people will be more willing to pay a bit more for it.
Good luck my friend

i agree with puddy... also, maybe send it by Twanksta for a full-up detail job, and then make sure you get someone who really knows how to take pictures and make them look good do a photoshoot of the car, and the "pristine-ness" of it may fetch a much higher price, and it'll be worth the detail cost and the time needed for the photoshoot...
Great pics sell things better! Sorry to see another S go, but hopefully it'll get into the hands of another enthusiast that'll carry on the tradition!

Hey Gang
Thanks for all the input and advice. I really do miss all the fun drives and meets, but as yoiu all know I have been MIA for a while. Have only driven the S a few time this year. I am 64 now and really need to move back to a soft sedan. Hope all is well with everyone.
