I came from VWs, here is my timeline from oldest to newest:

Started with this:

But then this happened to it:

I managed to live through that (the doctor won't ever let me forget how lucky I am though) and moved on to this:

I should never have parted with it to be honest, it was making about 275whp on a ustom big turbo setup (GT2860RS) and was a complete blast to drive around the autox course. I built the entire thing myself and really poured everything I had into making it my vision, only to turn around and sell it ebfore the project was even finished (it needed bodywork and paint, and some cleanup in the engine bay). Anyway, I went from that to this in order to minimize maintenance costs during school:

It got boring fast. Don't get me wrong it was a tremendous car, really a gorgeous automobile and I still tell everyone I know who is new car shopping to check out the new Rabbit. I just crave performance and really wanted to get back into racing. I was looking at 350zs and RX-8s and was pretty set on getting a 350z used but then I noticed this gem on the VW dealers lot (my family has bought like 6 cars from them in the past 4 years, they love us) and decided to check it out since I've always loved the S. A week later the Rabbit was gone an I wsa the proud new owner of a 2003 Suzuka Blue S2000! I've had the car for 355 days now and have loved every single one of them!

I had just turned 18, and I learned my lesson the hard way. I was driving like an idiot on a twisty road out in the country and hit some gravel and slid off the road at about 45mph. I went down a small drop off (like 6ft tall) and the car flipped and went roof first into a big tree. I was i nthe car unconscious and someone randomly driving by saw my car smoking i nthe woods and stopped to check it out. They found me inside and pulled me clear about 30 seconds before the fuel tank exploded (like the movies, except it didn't level acity block but the flames were apparently like 30ft high). I broke 7 bones in my face (including shattering my left cheek bone/eye socket) and suffered a class 3+ concussion and was unconscious for about 48 hours. I also lost 2 D1 scholarship offers to play soccer as a result.

Lesson learned. I do volunteer work as a guest speaker at driver education classes in Charlottesville now in an effort to show kids getting their licenses that young drivers getting in serious accidents is more than jst a statistic and that street racing and otherwise not obaying the rules of the road is stupid and the consequences can be very serious.

Now I do a lot of autocross and hopefully next summer I'll be getting on track at VIR and Summit Point with the S2000
