Default 68mm throttle body gains

I am debating on doing a 68 mm tb and port matching the intake manifold... anyone get any decent gains on an AP1 or am I wasting my time?

I have the spoon venturi tb, I havent noticed any difference, because I still have the oem air intake.. Installing my pwjdm intake next week and then I'm expecting some better throttle response! Spoon throttle body is 70mm.

Imo you should do it!

If you noticed no gains why would you suggest someone do it?
For it to make gains wouldn;t you really need to port match the intake manifold and head? Otherwise you have a bigger opening there and then the intake manifold is the same.

If you have done every bolt on and have tuning capability a TB isn't a bad move.

Mine did gain me 3-6 HP.

Was the intake manifold and head port matched or just simply bolting it on? Stock engine?

The engine had full boltons except cams.

On the 2006, the IM is little bigger then the stock TB, like 2 mm, so the J's TB is just 2mm bigger on the inside mating surface and matches perfect.

Im recommending this because I know I will get couple of horsepowers more with the intake, and because the throttle response gets better, and thats a really good thing in my opinion..

I personally wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't doing full head and IM work, but with all the money I have spent it would have been ridiculous to not have a matched TB. Although the TB is $600 from J's, you can have your stock TB ported and the butterfly enlarged for about $300. I was able to sell my stock TB for a decent price, but it took forever.
