Default QUESTION ABOUT K&N FIPK

im about to buy and install the fipk, and i was wondering if any of you out there with this intake have ever had problems with hydrolock, and if so how can they be avoided, thanks in advance

Chance of hydrolock with this intake is slim to none, unless you plan on driving into a lake

Pretty much impossible to hydrolock with this intake.

I wouldn't say 'impossible' but is highly unlikely. I love my FIPK.

Or if you drive without a hood in the rain.

Just installed mine last week. Sounds a lot better than I expected. you'll like it!

pour water on the filter while the engine is running will probably still not hydrolock since it's kn oil based filter.

i've driven in heavy rain many times with a seibon mg (mugen) hood where one of the vents empties right on the filter. no problems
