Default The NA Forum

First a suggestion:

I think there are too many threads stickied. It makes the forum a little hard to scan. Since people post in the official threads a lot you have to look two places to see new posts.

Also, I think a lot of new people might not post in the stickied topics or just might not pay attention to them.

I think there should be one stickied thread at the top with a very clear title that a very simple/clear body that has all the thread names. Sort of like it was before, but perhaps a bit more bold.

For example...

***Official NA Topic Threads***

anyway let's start there, and maybe there are some other ideas as well from others...

Like how do we get more of the BPU / stage I people in here... that's how most people start before getting into the interesting stuff.

I think a problem is that a lot of people post similar info to the S2000 Modifications and Parts section. For instance the Hondata thread, I think it could easily be in this section, but it's not. Same with handling questions, exhaust questions, etc...

The stickies seemed like a good idea at firs, but I agree that there are just to many up there now. Going back to the way it was is better for everyone right now. It's to busy.

At the same time the officials threads pretty much take up most of the topics that would be posted in here....I mean let's face it, when it comes to NA people are usually asking which this, or which that is better, and the official take care of most questions.

Hmm I went over to the mods forum and found this:

Maybe it's better that it's quieter in here.

Sometimes I think the stickies suck because it discourages people from adding new feedback on products when someone asks the same question again.

the sticky's are useful for new S2ki members looking for info. Instead of asking the same thing over and over hopefully they are looking at the stickies for the basic info. I think that we should take any advanced info/convo/knowledge to new topics for those who read the forum daily but I see the benefit of having a strong framework for newbies.

Right, I don't mean to say that stickies suck, just sometimes. I feel some information in the stickies is often unreliable or incomplete. When seemingly repeated questions are asked, the opportunity to re-evaluate or add to the evidence is lost when people jump too quickly to post a "the search button is your friend" reply.

Remember they can ask the same questions in the sticky posts....where we all do take the time to answer even if it's already been asked in the thread before.

This might be a problem too! I don't know what was done to promote this new section, but I didn't even know about it at first. I just happened to come across it. There may be a lot of people that still don't know the NA Forum exists!
