Default BC stage 3 cams

Do you just need to rebuild the head or do you need to completely rebuild the motor? I've tried searching but i havnt found anything.

The motor will run with just a head rebuild specifically the valve springs. However you are going to lose massive amounts of dynamic compression with those cams so to run well what you really need to do is up the CR of the motor.

Would it be ok for me to drive the car daily if i just did the head work. Will i just not get as much hp if i dont raise the compression?

I believe they note that there may be clearance issues (piston to valve) with the higher lift of those cams. I honestly believe the are for fully built engines or strokers only. You are better off trying the stage 2 cams. You can always call them for clarification.

Yeah i think im gonna try to just give them a call and see whats up. I just thought i read somewhere that it was ok to run the stage 3's with the stock motor.

I wouldn't believe anything they tell you regarding performance.

Assuming there are not clearance issues, you will likely gain less power with the Stage IIIs than the stage IIs because because of the significant loss in dynamic compression. It's a lot more complicated than "more lift and more duration equals more power".

Full Race - Normally Aspirated
Intended for fully built engine. Extensive mods, ECU tuning and high compression pistons are recommended. Requires kit BC0040. Note: Possible piston to valve issues with OEM pistons

right off their website. If you are determined to get cams you might also want to call up Skunk2 they are a little more expensive but thats what Im going to give a shot when I find more capital.

There are no NA cams that have been shown to gain power without supporting mods.

The BC cams have been shown to lose power for both NA and FI s2ks.
