Default Houston, we have a problem!

Ok so, I left the top of my car down last night by complete accident. Of course it rained for a little while, so I woke up this morning to an absolutely soaked interior. I put the top up and checked that all the elecronics still functioned properly and they were fine. Everything is SOAKED though, am I going to have problems down the road right this? Did I just ruin my interior? Anything I need to look out for in terms of things I may have broken and didn't quite notice yet? I'm on my way out the door to wipe down the seats and stuff to try and take as much water off of them as possible.

Thanks!

if the top works - I'd say you're good to go (from a functionality standpoint) - other than parking it in a garage and removing the entire interior I'd say there is nothing you can do - that pretty much is chalked up as water damage. Your car will smell & there will be mildew now.

son of a bitch... I might remove the carpet and give it a really solid cleaning in the next couple of days (been there before... my entire interior was swapped from blue to black by me in my garage, it was a pita lol), would that help at all?

To be honest the carpet in the footbeds is completely dry, as was the dash. The cetner console and seats were absolutely soaked though (and I'm assuming the carpet behind the seats is soaked as well).

It isn't hard to remove the carpet. I would just as a precautionary item, and let it dry outside for a while. I think you might could get some spray cleaner that is suppost to kill mildew, but don't quote me on that one (made for cars).

yea is still raining a bit on and off here. My garage can't house my car at the moment either so I can't get to grips with pulling the carpets until its nicer out (otherwise I'd just get everything even more wet and have to remove more of the interior lol).

I'm going to pull the carpets and drive around without them in for a day or two so they can dry. I'm also going to give them a solid cleaning and hit them with whatever I can find that helps kill milldew.

I also just woke up after blacking out in the middle of a weight lifting session (Idon't know why it happened so don't ask). What a great day!!!

If you've got access to a Shop Vac/wet vac that would be very helpful. Pull the carpet and go over the bare interior with the vac and then towel dry. Then vac the carpet to remove as much water as you can before you leave it to dry.

If you get the carpet dry quickly you may be able to get by with Lysol spray and some baking soda to kill the mildew and odors but don't use baking soda unless the carpet is completely dry and you have a strong vacuum cleaner that can thorougly remove it.

Don't ask how I learned this.

I'm not asking, but you need to go see a doctor, dude. That isn't something to just shrug off...

yea, it wasn't a good thing. I suspect I was working too hard (being angry about the car I think I went overboard with today's workout). For some reason I black out isntead of throw up when I do too much, so that is a possibility. I have to see the doctor later this week anyway so I'm going to ask him about it. If it happens again tomorrow morning then I'm going to be knocking on his door tomorrow afternoon.
